Diamond in the rough

Revista Vinhos – September 2019

Revista de Vinhos went to find out what Mértola has to tell about wines and grapes: “There are few producers in this region, but begins to have a story to tell. The wines are there and are proof that there is still a lot of Alentejo to discover”.

Among the wines tasted by the magazine, the Discórdia Reserva 2015, which presents a “beautiful nose, lots of ripe fruit”, “well-balanced corpulence” and freshness that gives balance to the persistent finish. Well done, says a tasting note from Revista de Vinhos.

Without controversy

Publico / Fugas – June 2019

Without any reason for controversy, Discórdia Branco 2017, “ends up surprising by its fresh and aromatic balance”, observes the journalist from Público / Fugas. From the lands of Mértola, with grapes grown in schist soils near the Guadiana, this is a wine with a “fruity flavor and enveloping freshness”.

An example, in the south

The new Discórdia wines “confirm the ability of the lands of Mértola to produce quality wines”, writes Visão magazine, reporting in a tasting note that Discórdia white 2017 reveals an “intense aroma”, “full palate” and ” good acidity”.

At the end of the year, the renowned publication returns to the tasting of Discórdia wines, considering the Discórdia Reserva red 2017 surprising.
